New UK casino could bring many jobs to Leeds

In Leeds, the newspaper is abuzz with reports that a new casino deal in the city would bring more much needed jobs to the area. In fact, if the city does get a new casino, as many as 4,000 new jobs could be offered to area residents. The UK city is in the official race to get the contract to build Britain's first supercasino. Only one casino will be built and Leeds wants to be the city to get it.

A Leeds city council statement states that underprivileged areas such as Gipton, Harehills and Holbeck would be the areas that would be impacted the most if the casino was approved for the area. The local economy would definitely benefits well if the casino were to be approved in Leeds.

In fact, if the deal were to be approved for the new casino in Leeds, if Leeds wins the contract, the casino's operator could even be asked to share a percentage of its profits to a social inclusion fund committed to improving the quality of life Leeds and it’s surrounding impoverished sectors.

The top casino companies from around the world have already expressed a great interest in developing a Las Vegas style casino in the area. The cities that are all vying for the one casino to be built are Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds.

If Leeds is indeed the chosen city for the new casino giant, the direct impact it would have on the area’s local economy could be just what the struggling area needs – a huge boost in income, thousands of new jobs that are desperately needed by many residents, and tourism. Leeds is trying its hardest to get Britain's first supercasino built in the area.

All cities in the bid for the first UK casino giant to be built are in some sort of need for local economy jolts. All of the cities are industrial, working class cities that could greatly benefit from having a new casino constructed. The battle to construct the first such casino has been a lengthy one and many companies involved in the bidding are chomping at the bit to get this deal underway.
